Putin: Russia to Find Trade Route to East Indies

In an effort not to be out done by the U.S., Vladimir Putin has suggested that Russia will put a man on the moon by the the year 2025, re-invent sticky dos, develop a vaccine for Polio, and maybe, just maybe find a new trade route to the East Indies. Scott Ott nails Vlad:

(MOSCOW) — Russian President Vladimir Putin today announced his “dramatic vision” to put a man on the moon by 2025, and “to return him safely to earth, if at all possible.” The announcement was seen as part of Mr. Putin’s increasing efforts to position Russia as a co-equal superpower with the United States. In an inspiring televised address, Mr. Putin also challenged Russian government employees to develop a vaccine for polio by 2050, a removable-replaceable “sticky note” by 2075 and “a trade route to the East Indies” by the end of the century. — as reported by satirist extroidinare Scott Ott / ScrappleFace

Satirist, Scott Ott, strikes at the renewed desire in the Putin Administration to “take back” some of that good ole “Cold War” glory that has slipped away from the leaders in Moscow since the break up on the Soviet Union. Oh those were the days right Vlad? When running the KGB made your heart pound and your stature feel like you were walking on the top of the world with a new pair of elevator shoes.

You’ll note not one reference to any international effort in the JFKenedian vision he has set out for the Russian people.

GWB… please take a memo: When you need a boost in your ratings just kick off a new grand space adventure for the year 2050 or so! Take a page out of Vlad’s journal. How about sending the 10th Mountain Division to Europa by the year 2050? It could be considered a preemptive offensive defense in the war on terror. It might do the trick for 2008.
