Clinton Campaign Aids Provide PR Support for Blackwater
Well wonders never cease! There appears to be some discrepancies in terms of Blackwater relationships, and those complaining publicly about their operations in Iraq. One of the biggest critics of Blackwater and their presence in Iraq has been Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY). It seems like the shoe may be on the other foot however and the flipping is starting again. May be breaking story next week.
WASHINGTON (NY POST) The company run by one of Hillary Clinton’s top campaign officials has been providing public-relations services for Blackwater - the security firm, accused of killing 17 Iraqi civilians, that has come under fire from Congress.
Burson-Marsteller, run by Clinton pollster Mark Penn, has been representing the troubled security firm in the lead-up to congressional testimony this week in which top company officials defended their policies and techniques for providing security in the war zone.
Penn is one of Clinton’s longest-serving and most important advisers, perhaps second only to her husband in influence.
He said yesterday that his company was no longer representing Blackwater.
Interesting how the Clinton campaign managers are dropping the prior facts like a hot potato. There really isn’t any sound evidence of wrong doing and in fact there are rumors that he incident may have been set up to provoke a specific political response. Now Hillary is distancing herself from the firm and so is Mark Penn apparently.
