After I exposed four gaping holes in Obama’s platform yesterday, he platooned himself again today in Pennsylvania by calling babies a punishment. Of course, the Politico writer thinks Obama’s answer was intuitive:
“Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” he said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
The answer appeared to be in response to his opposition to abstinence-only education, but rather a preference of comprehensive sexual education that includes some abstinence sprinkled in.
Regardless of your feelings on sexual education, this statement oozes with animosity. It also reveals the true heart of Barack Obama. Despite his so-called “understanding” of both sides of the abortion issue, any person that could utter such cold, abhorrence when discussing a fellow human being has no intention of displaying any goodwill to pro-lifers. I guess he is 100% ok with his daughters killing his unborn grandchildren if they screw up. This can be a wedge issue if Hillary knows how to use it. Doubt that she does. It amazes me that he can consider a baby punishment when there are so many people out there that cannot conceive and would love to have a child. Would he be in favor of wholesale fetus killing in Somalia or Ethiopia where most of those poor folk cannot “afford” any more children?? Double standards anyone ??

WASHINGTON (AP) – For all their delight in soaring voter registration and strong poll numbers, some Democrats fear the contest between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton might have a nightmarish end, which could wreck a promising election year.
The chief worry is that Clinton may carry her recent winning streak into Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina and other states, leaving her with unquestioned momentum but fewer pledged delegates than Obama. Party leaders then would face a wrenching choice: Steer the nomination to a fading Obama, even as signs suggested Clinton could be the stronger candidate in November; or go with the surging Clinton and risk infuriating Obama’s supporters, especially blacks, the Democratic Party’s most loyal base.
Some anxious Democrats want party elders to step in now to generate more “superdelegate” support for Obama, effectively choking off Clinton’s hopes before she can bolster them further. But many say that is unlikely, and they pray the final 10 contests will make the ultimate choice fairly obvious, not excruciating.
Barring a complete meltdown by Obama, Clinton has almost no chance of surpassing his number of pledged delegates, even if she scores upset wins in states such as Oregon, which votes May 20. But such victories would encourage her to keep criticizing Obama – her only hope for the nomination – and thus heighten doubts about Obama’s ability to defeat Republican Sen. John McCain in the fall. If you come across a news article, political or cultural parody, satire or political cartoon that moves you, simply submit a snipit of the article with your critique and comments on the article or the issue. We can add images for you if you like. One rule we will monitor is that you must BLOCKQUOTE any part of an article that you cut and paste and also do your best to cite the source with a link. Other than that, your own political opinion on the subject is most welcomed !!
Once you have been a Contributor for at least 5 posts or so…. and we feel comfortable with your work and you are not a spammer… we will move you to an Author level where you can publish without moderation. We do reserve the right however to edit or remove any post at our discretion if we believe it is too far over the top, even for our tastes!

Addendum: <15 min. to upgrade using WP Automatic Upgrade Plugin v.1.0 !!
We have converted to Wordpress 2.5 in less than 15 minutes using Wordpress Automatic Upgrade (WPAU) v1.0 plugin by Keith Dsouza. This plugin does all the upgrade work for you all you do is click through each step of the upgrade process. It backs up posts, database, checks configuration, puts your site in maintenance mode, deactivates existing plugins, finds and loads latest WP upgrade files from the WP.org server, loads them, reactivates plugins and even keeps a full log for you. Outstanding!! If you have the old 0.8 plugin you must do the following first before using it to upgrade to Wordpress v2.5:
Deactivate and/or upload the latest version of WPAU v.1.0 (see below)
Reactivate the WPAU plugin and follow instructions preferably using manual mode.
Wordpress Version 2.5 is an exceptional release, especially the automatic plugin update feature. We had one plugin that needed updating and it worked like a champ without having to FTP upload any files manually to our server. The folks at Wordpress deserve a standing ovation for this release !!
If you are interested in using WPAU v.1.0 to upgrading painlessly, OpenWeb Downloads has recently added Keith Dsouza’a wonderful Wordpress Automatic Update v1.0 Plugin to their Downloads Freeware section under Misc. Freeware , if you are not a member simply register, it’s free. Make sure you use WPAU 1.0 plugin if you are converting from Wordpress 1.5+ or higher to Wordpress 2.5 as it has been patched by Keith Dsouza for compatability with WP2.5. Works like a champ !!
If, God forbid, your WP site is older than 1.5 this plugin will not work. You must be at least at 1.5 or higher according to Keith.

(2008-03-25) — After a CBS News video appeared on YouTube contradicting former First Lady Hillary Clinton’s account of her 1996 landing in Bosnia “under sniper fire”, a spokesman for Sen. Clinton’s presidential campaign said unnamed critics were trying to “swiftboat” her “in a fashion reminiscent of what they did to John Kerry in 2004.” [Click to View CBS Video]
Sen. Kerry, a professional Vietnam war veteran, faced relentless questions during his own White House bid that were sparked by fellow swiftboat crewman who alleged that his Vietnam service was not as harrowing and valorous as his own medal applications and stump speeches implied.
The Clinton campaign source said CBS News had apparently edited out the sniper fire audio from its video clips, making it look like First Lady Clinton and her daughter Chelsea were greeted at the landing site by a little, pony-tailed Bosnian girl who kissed Mrs. Clinton on the cheeks.
“Even without the audio, you can see Hillary and Chelsea ducking toward the little girl as bullets whistle over their heads,” said the anonymous campaign staffer. “The other people standing nearby were so paralyzed by fear that all they could do was smile. The little girl practically leaped into Hillary’s arms for protection from the barrage of searing hot lead.”
In an effort to avoid such a swiftboating, the Clinton campaign will reportedly air a new commercial which claims to include the original audio recorded that day. [Click here, or view video below.]
