What more evidence is necessary to convince us that we need to Drill Now here at home — in addition to — exploring additional energy sources? John McCain and Sarah Palin have it right! OPEC will now put the squeeze to us. The Middle Eastern sheiks and their Venezuelan friends will bring us to our knees exerting control over our economy using oil as weapon unless we begin to buffer their unilateral control of petroleum by recovering more of the natural resources we have here at home !!! Open your eyes people !!

(HONG KONG) — OPEC members (at a meeting in Hong Kong) have agreed to roll back oil production to quotas agreed in September 2007, a level that will cut output by about 500,000 barrels a day. An OPEC statement issued at the conclusion of its meeting Wednesday said the organization agreed to produce 28.8 million barrels a day. An Associated Press report cited OPEC President Chakib Khelil as saying the quota meant that member countries agreed cut back production by 530,000 barrels a per day. End of Story — (that’s an understatement! – ed.)
The majority of nations on this planet wish they had a tenth of the petroleum and gas deposits we have here at home yet we have become blind to using the modern technological advances that have been made during the last two decades due to political agendas between the two dysfunctional parties in Washington. Oil can be recovered safely from our domestic deposits while at the same time we are exploring alternative energy sources and more efficient use of fossil fuels. McCain has it right in our opinion. Obama has been taking a no drill, inflate your tires and conserve approach while latest polls indicate >70% of Americans believe we are being too conservative with over protecting our natural resources when there are responsible harvesting alternatives available.
This issue is rapidly becoming a national security issue. It has gone well beyond a theoretical discussion of global warming and over-protecting a mosquito infested no-mans land (which by the way CAN be protected) where less than .001% of the world’s population will ever set foot.
The longer we wait, the more we risk a more serious military conflict just to get the energy we need to keep our economy afloat. Democrats, just how do you like being held hostage by the Middle East ??? Just how do you all feel about this OPEC decision?
