Bush Bashing Withdrawal Syndrome
Will the mockery of government become a less fashionable target for the comedy writers of late night television? Don’t expect things to CHANGE any time soon. There is little doubt in this writer’s mind that the MSM, and MSNBC in particular, will continue to trash the former administration and the political right regardless of how often Obama suggests that we should come together as a nation…

I suspect things will remain “politically correct” with respect to Obama. The medial will avoid being critical during the first 100 days or so.
Now Hillary Clinton is another matter all together, especially if she appears to be in conflict with the Obama international affairs doctrine (whatever the heck that actually turns out to be). It’s been a secret with all the lofty rhetoric hidden so far behind his position that “…we only have one president at a time”. Wait till the shooting starts again in Gaza then we will see just how much “CHANGE” Obama will make to the Bush Doctrine (if any !)

Who’s to say the lampooning of Bush will stop? I hear he’s thinking of writing a book…

Your right. It won’t stop, especially if he decides to speak out like former Presidents Carter and Clinton. Clinton was fairly civil out of respect for his father who he seemed to grow fond of. Carter on the other hand, is just a downright senile anti-semitic closet communist and outright socialist with zero respect from the armed forces which he nearly singlehandedly decimated prior to the Regan years. Will Obama do the same? It will remain to be seen what gets cut when the spending bills from the financial bailouts causes a debt crisis. Leftist Congress will want to cut military spending and as a result the vulnerability will begin to show, emboldening long standing rivals to take what they felt was theirs as the U.S. loses its edge in defense technology in the next 10 years. Watch out… Taiwan, Israel, Southern Iraq, Georgia, South Korea… You will be on your own with the U.N. to protect your interests.

It’s so wrong; but I believe it will go on for the lifetimes of all the leftists now alive and some of their unfortunate children, like the whipping-post treatment of McCarthy and Hoover. Thank God, Bush is a strong man with principles. He knows they are displaying their own ignorance. But it still is hard to listen to, for the sake of the Presidency itself and the traditional principles enshrined in our Constitution. Few realize that this non-stop snarking is actually being orchestrated and driven by dedicated revolutionaries determined to destroy the United States’ Constitution and replace it with European-style socialism. And we see how that is working out for Europe: high unemployment, huge taxes, the stifling of free speech and the incremental imposition of sharia law. It is happening here and will destroy us if Americans don’t start informing themselves and acting on behalf of the survival of the Big Ideas that underlie freedom, not the petty, short-term, selfish rationales that now dominate our public discourse and private voting patterns.

Albion has it spot dead on. I am often concerned that the moderate voters who voted in the “CHANGE” we are seeing won’t realize what a slippery slope that form of “CHANGE” may turn out to be until its far too late. They may wish at some point in the future that they had spent more time researching the details of what a far left agenda would mean to the country in the long run. You can’t take your vote “back” and they may wake up one day regretting that along with “making history” they may have also set in motion something that they may regret in future years…. a USSA. A United Socialist States of America.
Let’s hope that those same moderate voters will backlash in the general election and send a message that WE DON’T WANT GOVERNMENT CONTROLLING EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES…! (They are moving in that direction for sure.) We want something other than bickering self centered politicians. We want leaders who are educated enough, with integrity and courage enough, to do what is right to preserve our individual liberties and freedom from big government and having our lived dictated to by “The State” ! Otherwise, we may soon be calling each other “comrade” in the next decade and then asking ourselves… How did this happen?
