We are always looking for new authors and satirical reporters who search the web for political stories, satire and cartoons . If you are interested, simply follow these two easy steps:
1. First register here on our site then…

We will get back to your request within 24-48 hrs. Please also be sure to include the url to your website or blog so we can check out your style. Once screened and accepted we will set you up as a contributing author. You will be given site access to submit posts for review prior to our publishing them here at ZardozZ News and Satire.
IMPORTANT: Please check over our site first to be sure your work aligns with our readership and politics… We are a bit right of center as you can tell, still “holding on to our guns and religion” 
Your submitted posts may focus on any current news event, political satire, humor, or any other societal aberration of your choosing. We do believe most politicians provide multiple layers of rich manure in their hidden agendas for you to harvest and cultivate. You will always be free here to call it like you see it exposing any and all of those agendas adding your own personal point of view.
Oh… one more thing… even with all its faults at times, we love America. If you don’t — please don’t bother asking to author here.

Here are five cartoons that sums it up nicely. Why do we believe this guy is just more of the same? Could it be that his actions are speaking contrary to his words? That’s a pre-requisite for sameness not change so yes, he is in good company will all the other beltway boys. What he is changing is the color of the wool he’s trying to pull over the publics eyes.

We have retired our poll on whether or not Barack or Hillary would win the Democrat nomination. Once again our readers hit the nail on the head. While it’s not official we figured we might as well start counting up your votes for the big prize in November.
Choose between Sen. John “Marverick” McCain and Barack H. “Messiah” Obama. We hope you don’t mind we took liberties to give each of them a military “call sign”. Afterall, one of them will become the new Commander in Chief and we just thought it would be fitting.

Each of the basic download packs for blogs contains 90+ flash games (in .swf format) including its respective thumbnail (.gif) along with an instruction guide (.pdf) explaining how to configure them so your visitors can play them right on your site just as in the Shooting Arcade example above. Are you going crazy trying to completely uninstall iTunes from your PC?
Ok this is not one of our usual posts but after going bonkers for days searching through a number of forums I felt compelled to share this solution with anyone with a similar nightmare.
Scenario: Your latest download of iTunes got corrupted on your system somehow or was uninterrupted during installation. Doesn’t matter how. It happened to me. I realized I had to remove and reinstall iTunes. So I thought I would just download the latest version first and try reloading it. No dice. So I thought ok, I would first remove it using the ADD/REMOVE feature in the control panel and try again. Not so easy or that simple thanks to the brain trust over at Apple. Low and behold I could not get the iTunes program off the Programs list. Reloading itunessetup.exe gave errors and would not start. In my ensuing hours of Google research I found many posts of folks with just this issue in a similar situation. Let me share with you what I found and post some information from various forums I researched that will help you solve this problem:
First here is your overall objective:
Before you can reinstall iTunes you must first remove all reminants of the following applications including all “left over” files from your registry. Yep… that scary place on your PC !! :
First try removing each of these with the uninstallers. You may find you cannot get some of these completely uninstalled…
- iTunes Softare
- Apple Mobile Support
- iPhone (if you have it loaded)
- Bonjour (expecially Bonjour,the most problematic and most difficult component to remove properly)
- Quicktime
- Apple Software Update
- and anything else related to iTunes — that’s the tough part
Here is how to do this with a special freeware program designed specifically to REMOVE ALL TRACES of a previously loaded program from your PC. You can obtain it from OpenWeb Downloads for free in the General Utilities Section of their Downloads section if you register. Registration is just the typical bulletin board / forum registration to avoid spammers.
1. BACK UP YOUR PC — Make sure you have restore points in case you really mess up and have to roll back. I can’t stress this enough but if you feel lucky proceed to the next step.
2. Download RevoUninstall and Unzip to a folder on your desktop
3. Intall Revo and run it and follow instructions.
4. Find one of the applications to remove and select it.
4a. Click on Uninstall icon in the top toolbar. It will ask you if you are sure, say yes.
4.b Select the ADVANCED deep clean option 4th bullet down. You will need to DELETE the BOLD ENTRIES when the screen appears and you prompted.
4c. Note: I use Firefox and some /pref information also appeared. I choose not to delete these since there were no clear reference to itunes anywhere in the directory listing. It did not have any problems skipping these for fear of screwing up my FF preferences. (you could always re-run and remove these and try again if you felt you needed because YOU DID BACK UP YOUR PC, RIGHT ???)
5. Make sure you remove ALL BOLD HIGHLIGHTED REGISTRY KEYS and FILES in each screen that Revo presents you. ALL DRIVES !! Be sure to follow the prompts as it cleans, you want to make sure to delete all of the registry entrys HIGHLIGHTED IN BOLD ONLY.
You have to remove all these applications: iTunes, Apple Mobile Support, iPhone, Bonjour, Quicktime, Apple Software Update and anything else related to itunes. Don’t skip any EXCEPT YOUR MY MUSIC files of course!!!
6. REBOOT….
7. Then check your ADD/REMOVE programs in your Control Panel. You should see all previous programs removed.
8. Check that your PC is functioning normally. Make sure windows browsers work and everything seems fine! If not you may want to rerun Revo…. worst case, Restore your backup as you may have some other issue affecting your situation.
9. Now DOWNLOAD A NEW COPY of iTunes from Apple Site. It should now install like as a new installation.
10. You will probably need to log into iTunes Store and RE-AUTHENTICATE your PC to accept your recently purchased songs etc. The new software allows you to authorize 5 PCs.
Hopefully Apple will acknowledge this as an issue that they should address it in new releases. The fact that they have you load software on your PC that almost requires a degree in Computer Science to completly remove all associated keys in the Registry is really not what I would call elegant in this day and age!

Seems like the new site owners at RingSurf were very serious when they said they would make major improvements to the old RingSurf webring system. They have moved to a new system that uses a universal navigation bar at the top of you page instead of the conventional < < ? # >> symbols commonly associated with webrings. Great move !
One of the most frustrating aspects for a web or blog ring manager was coaching their members to place the navigation html code somewhere so the NEXT person surfing into that site could find it and remain in the “ring”. The changes made by the RingSurf developers appear to put that concern to bed since their new code does NOT contain antiquated navigation controls everyone has grown used to. Very nice improvement !!!
Members of a ring do not have to have that navigation bar on their sites to navigate to other member sites just a simple button, text link or banner informing visitor of the site’s membership in a particular ring. This change provides a more convenient way to enable a Social Community, or “Collective” as we like to call it at ZZ OpenRing, with minimal disruption to a webmaster’s site design since the visitor does not need to search for the ring code any longer. The NEW html code that is used directs the visitor to the Community Ring List where the visitor can then surf through the entire ring with the Universal Navigation Bar fixed in place at the top of their browser window. Very nice!
ZZ OpenRing has converted to the new format. We will be updating all of our files and servers to better reflect the new RingSurf functionality for you. Stay tuned….

ZZ News and Satire is currently seeking additional writers and critics, especially from our current registered subscriber list. All your posts will reflect your username as the credited writer and author.
If you are interested in posting your own sarcastic view points of politics, cultural events, satire, cartoons or parody simply respond to this post in our comment area including a link to your site so we can first evaluate your work and political leaning. We tend to be right of center here but that’s not a show stopper. To post you must be registered as a subscriber. You’ll be able to cross post articles of yours including a link to your site if you are looking for some increased exposure to our regular circulation and traffic here.
I am already a registered reader… can I post here now??
For those of you who are already registered site members, if you are interested in writing a few posts, simply respond in our comment area and provide us your current user name with a request to be made a contributer. We will then change your status from Subscriber to Contributor. Give us a day or so to do this and we will notify you at the eMail address in your user profile. Then the next time you login at the link in the top right sidebar you will see additional access privileges that will let you compose a post and submit it to us for review. We keep all new contributors in a moderated status for awhile till we are sure you are legit with no evil intentions of spamming or going way over the top on us ala Jack Nicholson in The Shining. 
A few simple rules: No hate speech, profanity and racial bashing will be permitted here. (Unless you are citing a source 
) Certainly your run of the mill political debasement, mudslinging and animosity between political points of view are more than welcome here as long as its above the elementary school level of name calling.
What are we looking for ???
If you come across a news article, political or cultural parody, satire or political cartoon that moves you, simply submit a snipit of the article with your critique and comments on the article or the issue. We can add images for you if you like. One rule we will monitor is that you must BLOCKQUOTE any part of an article that you cut and paste and also do your best to cite the source with a link. Other than that, your own political opinion on the subject is most welcomed !!
Once you have been a Contributor for at least 5 posts or so…. and we feel comfortable with your work and you are not a spammer… we will move you to an Author level where you can publish without moderation. We do reserve the right however to edit or remove any post at our discretion if we believe it is too far over the top, even for our tastes!

Addendum: <15 min. to upgrade using WP Automatic Upgrade Plugin v.1.0 !!
We have converted to Wordpress 2.5 in less than 15 minutes using Wordpress Automatic Upgrade (WPAU) v1.0 plugin by Keith Dsouza. This plugin does all the upgrade work for you all you do is click through each step of the upgrade process. It backs up posts, database, checks configuration, puts your site in maintenance mode, deactivates existing plugins, finds and loads latest WP upgrade files from the WP.org server, loads them, reactivates plugins and even keeps a full log for you. Outstanding!! If you have the old 0.8 plugin you must do the following first before using it to upgrade to Wordpress v2.5:
- Deactivate and/or upload the latest version of WPAU v.1.0 (see below)
- Reactivate the WPAU plugin and follow instructions preferably using manual mode.
Wordpress Version 2.5 is an exceptional release, especially the automatic plugin update feature. We had one plugin that needed updating and it worked like a champ without having to FTP upload any files manually to our server. The folks at Wordpress deserve a standing ovation for this release !!
If you are interested in using WPAU v.1.0 to upgrading painlessly, OpenWeb Downloads has recently added Keith Dsouza’a wonderful Wordpress Automatic Update v1.0 Plugin to their Downloads Freeware section under Misc. Freeware , if you are not a member simply register, it’s free. Make sure you use WPAU 1.0 plugin if you are converting from Wordpress 1.5+ or higher to Wordpress 2.5 as it has been patched by Keith Dsouza for compatability with WP2.5. Works like a champ !!
If, God forbid, your WP site is older than 1.5 this plugin will not work. You must be at least at 1.5 or higher according to Keith.
